The Paradox of Corrupt Bureaucracies in Democratic Nations and the Future of Pakistan.

By: Muhammad Asif. Dated 28th Dec 2023.

In every democratic country, examinations are known for their rigour and challenge, so much so that only a minuscule fraction, say 100 candidates out of 100,000, can pass them. Success in these exams indicates a candidate's intelligence, deep understanding, and exceptional literacy. But, as we've witnessed, these assets only sometimes transmute into ethical administrative stewardship.

These fortunate and brilliant 100 who top the exams invariably become integral to the nation's bureaucracy. Some may choose the path of law enforcement, while others may embrace the administrative arena. They climb the hierarchical ladder with time, reaching senior positions with substantial influence and power.

However, an unfortunate phenomenon often unfolds over some time. After roughly a decade in service, a section of these intelligent bureaucrats elevate corruption in the system and neglect the fundamental rights of their fellow citizens. Observing a departure from their roles as watchdogs of democracy, they pander to corrupt politicians, suppress democratic values and blatantly violate constitutional provisions.

Disturbingly, the corruption plague does not halt at the offices of the bureaucracy. Even courts, the proclaimed guardians of the constitution, may disregard justice, thereby failing the citizens. They wield the Constitution instead of protecting it, acting as an agent for corruption rather than a deterrent.

In such a grim scenario, citizens resort to their fundamental right to vote as a beacon of hope. They demand free and fair elections to install leaders who will diagnose and rectify systemic corruption. Tragically, the inert establishment often turns a deaf ear to these legitimate appeals, and many outspoken citizens land in jail without conviction, suffocating the voice of justice.

So, what befalls a nation that spirals into this nefarious labyrinth of corruption? Its future is shrouded in gloom.

A country fostering corruption at the highest echelons hampers its growth perspective. Disillusioned by the system, the citizens may lose faith in democracy, and the nation's pillars risk crumbling. Therefore, it is quintessential for every democracy, its leaders, and, importantly, its citizens not to merely stand but act as guardians of their constitution, values and rights to erect an impartial, inclusive and promising future.

Now it's time to stand up by the people for the people to save their beloved country.

Otherwise, don't hope for good from these morons, who even don't have the heart of sympathy, even those people who are dying from starvation. Some are committing suicide since they don't have any earnings left so that they can feed their families, paying 100% inflation in the economy and " PER CAPITAL CAPITA " wend below the poverty rate of 60% population to 80% population.

HOW TO PROTECT IT INFRASTRUCTURE, NETWORK FROM VULNERABILITIES TIES ATTACKING BY INTRUDERS TO HACK

HOW TO PROTECT IT INFRASTRUCTURE NETWORK FROM VULNERABILITIES, TIES ATTACKING BY INTRUDERS TO HACKED

Develop a robust security policy: Create and document a comprehensive security policy that outlines the rules, guidelines, and measures to protect your IT infrastructure. This policy should cover access controls, user management, network security, data backup, software patching, and incident response.

Regularly update software and systems: Keep all software, operating systems, and applications updated with the latest security patches and updates. Enable automatic updates whenever possible to promptly address any identified vulnerabilities.

Implement strong access controls: Enforce strong password policies, including complex passwords and regular password changes. Implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) to add an extra layer of security to user accounts. Restrict user privileges to only what is necessary for their roles.

Utilize network security measures: Implement a robust firewall to monitor and control network traffic. Use intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS) to identify and prevent potential attacks. Implement virtual private networks (VPNs) to secure remote connections and encrypt data in transit.

Regularly backup critical data: Develop a data backup strategy to ensure that important information is regularly backed up and can be quickly restored in case of data loss or a security incident. Store backups securely, preferably in an off-site location or on an encrypted cloud storage service.

Monitor and analyze system logs: Establish a system for monitoring and analyzing system logs, network traffic, and user activity. These logs can help identify potential security incidents and facilitate timely response and investigation.

Educate and train employees: Conduct regular security awareness training sessions to educate your employees about the importance of IT infrastructure security, common cyber threats, and best practices. Encourage them to practice safe computing habits, such as avoiding suspicious links or attachments, and to report any potential security incidents promptly.

Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing: Regularly perform vulnerability assessments to identify potential weaknesses in your IT infrastructure. Additionally, conduct periodic penetration tests to simulate real-life cyber-attacks and identify any security gaps that need to be addressed.

Establish an incident response plan: Develop a detailed incident response plan that outlines the steps to be taken in the event of a security breach or cyber-attack. Clearly define the roles and responsibilities of your incident response team and establish communication channels for reporting and addressing incidents effectively.

Keep up with industry trends and best practices: Stay informed about the latest trends, threats, and best practices in IT infrastructure security by following security blogs, subscribing to security newsletters, and participating in relevant industry forums or conferences. Regularly review and update your security measures based on evolving threats and vulnerabilities.

Remember that maintaining IT infrastructure security is an ongoing process. By implementing a proactive and comprehensive approach to security, you can significantly reduce the risk of cyber threats and protect your organization's valuable assets and data.

ONE NZ- THE PATHETIC SERVICES IN DAY TIME AT ROTORUA TOWN.

ONE NZ- THE PATHETIC SERVICES IN THE DAYTIME AT ROTORUA TOWN.

BY: MUHAMMAD ASIF, ROTORUA

DATED: 21 Dec 2023.

I'm sorry I am writing about the ONE NZ network issues I've been experiencing with Vodafone/ONE NZ being a corporate customer.

The issues I am facing are listed below.

1. Sometimes, there are no signals in Rotorua town

2. Calls are disconnecting.

3. LTE/5G connectivity mostly disappears in the daytime.

A reliable network is crucial for businesses, and it can be frustrating when it fails to meet expectations. The high temperatures are causing difficulties and impacting the equipment at various sites. Understandably, I and other ONE NZ users are disappointed with the situation, especially if the existing equipment cannot adequately control the temperature required by the DWDM equipment due to old temperature control equipment.

While I don't have access to specific information on why the government telecom authorities have yet to take action, they may address the issue through other channels or work with the company to resolve the network problems. It might be worth contacting them directly or inquiring if they plan to address the situation.

As for my recommendation to ONE NZ, revisiting their subcontractor agreements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and replacing the temperature control equipment with new ones, as per recommended by DWDM equipment providers, could be a step towards addressing and improving the network issues. By assessing the existing partnerships and ensuring they meet the necessary standards and agreements, ONE NZ may address the equipment and temperature control problems more effectively.
